The Barbary lion (Panthera leo leo) silver lion buckle is a tribute to a completely extinct animal in the wild today. Famous for their thick and long dark manes that flows over their shoulders, they are also know as “royals” because Ethiopian and Moroccan royalty would make them their pets. In roman times it is rumoured they were the ones that would fight the gladiators. Today as a result of over-hunting and severe habitat loss, they only exist in captivity.

This waking Lion is made from casted Zamak metal. Electroplated with 925 silver. Oxidized and then hand polished to a mirror finish to reveal a bright and contrasting antique look. Coated with an epoxy protective finish.

The belt bar accommodates both a 40mm and a 1 1/2 inch wide belt strap.
